Brothers Grimm
Synopsis
The once was a tailor who was all talk but little action. One day he decided to travel abroad to see the world. He saw in the distance a large hill with a tower leading up to the clouds behind it.
When he approached the hill, the tower was revealed to actually be a giant.
The giant asked the tailor what his business was here. He responded that he was travelling and seeing if he could find a way to make money along the way.
The giant offered a the tailor to stay with him and earn money by preforming tasks for him.
Each time the giant asked the tailor to do something, the tailor sarcastically responded that he would complete the task to an extreme. The giant believed the boaster of a tailor and began to become worried that he was a sorcerer.
Fearing the tailors imaginary powers, the giant had the tailor sit on a tree branch that he bent to the ground. Once the tree branch had just the tailors weight it flung him into the air and the giant never saw him land. It is possible that the tailor is still in the air to this day.
The End
Lessons & Takeaways
Be Humble
The tailor had an opportunity to have an adventure and make money. All he had to do was complete the tasks that the giant asked of him. Instead, he gave the giant attitude and boasted he could do the task 1000 times better.
Due to his arrogance, the giant mistook his words as fact and feared the tailor as no man would be able to compete such things. This led to his probable death or possibly him flying through the air for eternity… not sure which would be a worse fate.
